Team Capital Offense Wins MVT and MVP in a True24 Format:
Team Capital Offense (TCO) competed in Blackcat Paintball's True24 game June 20-21 - that means 24 hours straight with no breaks. Missions came in every half-hour and missions during th enight were worth double the missions during the day. This is the old-school format that some of TCO grew up playing and the Team was thrilled to see it return to modern paintball. Under the incredibly capable leadership of "KC" from Team FEDEX, the Team provided the tip-of-the-spear operational component to the General's gameplan. The end result was an overall victory by a large margin and TCO's winning Most Valuable Team and Most Valuable Player awards.
To account for the 24 hours of straight play, the Team devised a rotation schedule that overlapped so that there was never a time when TCO was not on the field. As the primary mission running team, TCO rotated people to keep their legs fresh (Blackcat's home field is a tough field to stay fresh on!!) and utilized old tricks, as well as some new ones that were in their "beta" test phase during the game...all of which were highly successful.
The Team wishes to thank Spiro and the entire Blackcat crew for yet another great game!!! We look forward to coming back up to Smithfield, OH in the near future!
"Joint Venture" Secures Another Award:
Operation: SkyNet Volume III
When: 30 May 09
Where: Adventure Beach Paintball Field, Tabor City, NC
The Joint Venture of Teams Boxer and Capital Offense continues to pay off. Boxer's Phoenix Group (Seoul, Abnotic, Killa, Muffin, Ghost, MgB, NevaScared, Runaway) attended our good friend Kevin Shimwell's field in Myrtle Beach, Adventure Beach Paintball last weekend and brought their usual A-Game. Team Boxer Captain Runaway secured another Most Valuable Player Award. Congratulations to Phoenix Group of Team Boxer!!
The Joint Venture Project is an innovation unique to scenario paintball. It was created by Capital Offense and Team Boxer in an effort to combine resources for maximum effect. The two teams realized that although they each have incredibly successful units, the combination of those units creates a force-multiplier. As such, both teams joined forces under the header "Joint Venture" which allows them to keep their unique identities as teams, but also assures that they are working hand-in-hand at each event. If you see one team, you are likely to see the other, and that is bad news for the opposition!!
Team Capital Offense wins MVT at Vietnam Patrol:

Team Capital Offense, along with its joint Team Boxer walked away with another Most Valuable Team at Command Decisions' Vietnam Patrol 2009. Playing the role of the Laotian Bandits, TCO operated with impunity behind enemy lines securing missions, props and gathering intel for General Bill "Greenman" Ford to help bring home a big win.
Starting the game with a strategic push up "Ambush Alley" the Team secured a Forward Operating Base (FOB) deep in the woods where it was difficult to locate and track the unit's movements. Given that the game was mission-based, which is Capital Offense's bread and butter, the Team relished its role, causing all kinds of havoc. Though the Team did get a chance to go on the offensive and storm a few bases from time to time!

The victory means that the winning streak for 2009 continues - Capital Offense and Boxer have helped lead their team to victory at every event of the season thus far...it must be the pre-game victory cigar!

Team Capital Offense Opens 2009 Season with Major Win and Most Valuable Team Award:
Team Capital Offense ushered in a new season with a major victory and Most Valuable Team Award at Blackcat Paintball's 24 Hour game "Government Reform" at Skyline Paintball in Strasburg, VA last weekend. The Team dominated all fronts of the game, including mission running, territory control, and of course, night play. When TCO wasn't accomplishing missions, it was flanking behind enemy lines and achieving multiple enemy Command Post kills for additional points.
Capital Offense's General for the game stated in the awards ceremony "I've never had so much fun sitting in the CP listening to a team dominating the field over the radio before." We thank him for his praise, and look forward to working with him again soon.
This award continues the streak - Capital Offense has won a major award at every event it has attended since becoming a formal team in 2006!!
Team Capital Offense Wishes to Welcome Three New Players to the Team:
Capital Offense is happy to announce that three new players have tried out for the Team and have been accepted for the 2009 season. Robert Cox, Chris Cleary and Thomas Rush all passed the test with flying colors at the Season Opening Game in Strasburg, VA and will enhance the Team on a number of fronts. Robert is probably the best anti-tank gunner in all of scenario paintballer...if a tank is within 200 yards, it is in trouble if Robert is around!! Chris brings a background as an intelligence officer to the Team, which is of course highly useful in the twisting plot lines of scenario paintball. Tommy is active duty in the Coast Guard and also brings a highly professional approach with real-world operational experience to the Team. Their bios will be uploaded shortly.
Stop by and congratulate them if you see them at your next event!
Team Capital Offense and VFORCE Continue Relationship:
Capital Offense is proud to announce that it is one of only THREE scenario teams in the United States that VFORCE has decided to sponsor for 2009. TCO and VFORCE began their relationship in 2007, and the Team is thrilled to have expanded our role with VFORCE and ProCaps since then. Capital Offense is now a flagship team for VFORCE and sports the best goggle in paintball - the GRILL.
Team Member James Bensinger said "The GRILLS are the best goggles I have ever used in Paintball. They are light and tight, provide exceptional clarity of vision and "bounce capability" because of their soft lower section. Combine that with their incredibly easy quick-change lens and foam system and the aggressive styling, and I can't imagine why players would choose anything else!"
TCO looks forward to expanding the VFORCE universe in scenario paintball in 2009! Stop by the Team's Command Tent for more information and to test out the goggles.
Team Capital Offense Selected to be Offical GEO Rollout Team for the Scenario World:
Team Capital Offense is proud to announce that Planet Eclipse has selected it to be the official GEO rollout team for the scenario world. Capital Offense will have a dedicated unit within the Team that will be using the GEO exclusively.
Team Captain David C. Thompson said “We are thrilled to expand our relationship with Eclipse to be their official GEO team for the scenario market. We intend to use the GEOs with our “sneakier” players and allow the EGO and ETEK users to comprise the frontal assault units. We have been incredibly impressed with the GEOs size, weight, smoothness, quiet operation, and accuracy. When combined, these attributes add up to an excellent choice for scenario players, particularly those that like to sneak and peak and play more of a sniper or flanking role.”
The Eclipse GEO: When Planet Eclipse manufactured the first Ego it created an overnight revolution in the world of tournament-level Poppet-Valve based markers. By combining reliability, efficiency, performance, ease of maintenance, light weight, balanced design and compact dimensions in a package that was as easy to tech and service as it was to shoot high-speed strings on the field, it became an instant success with players, techs, and dealers alike.
The Eclipse Geo is the Company’s first foray into the spool valve market and has been designed and developed to neutralize all the traditional negative aspects of spool-valve based markers. It offers exceptional air efficiency. It has the fewest possible number of dynamic seals. It is as easy to tech as any other Eclipse marker. It is incredibly reliable. It is compact, balanced and amazingly lightweight. It is everything that Eclipse stands for.
Team Capital Offense and Tarjac Inc. Enter Into Sponsorship Agreement:
Team Capital Offense is proud to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Tarjac, Inc. for the 2009 season. The agreement details include further enhancing TCO’s invisibility in the woods with the application of the MultiCam pattern to the team’s hardware.
Tarjac is a unique finishing service provider that uses a market-moving technology known as Fluid Imaging Technology (FIT), a three-dimensional printing process. The FIT process is the most robust and cost-effective means by which products with irregular or uneven surfaces such as bows, firearms, paintball markers, and hoppers can be decorated.
“Both the team and Tarjac are looking forward to working together; It’s a match made in heaven.” Team Sniper Chris Vara said today. “Tarjac’s service and process, are second to none”. With a late start to seal the deal, there will only be a few TCO members sporting their new MultiCam hoppers, as well as a New Addition to the team, Code Named "Cookie Monster". Other team members will be getting their hoppers worked over as the season progresses.
“The partnership with Team Capital Offense is exciting for Tarjac and all of our employees who are committed to excellence because TCO embodies the energy, focus and commitment to excellence that is central to our business philosophy. TCO’s innovative approach on the field mirrors the uniqueness Tarjac brings to the finishing industry and we are honored to be a part of their team” stated Tarjac’s President, Larry Salerno.
Tarjac’s FIT process specializes in firearms, which is a perfect match for TCO and their equipment. Tarjac recently did work with the Tuttle’s over at Orange County Choppers for the Gander Mountain Bike. Their craftsmanship and attention to detail are what attracted TCO to explore a partnership with Tarjac. By having Tarjac as a sponsor and TCO as their marketing tool, there should be no reason for the two entities not to flourish.
Just keep a sharp eye when walking through the woods... You may not see us, at all!!
Team Capital Offense Rolls Out their New Logo:
The new logo created by graphic designer Dana Mai embodies both the spirit and style of Capital Offense. Capital Offense and Graphic Designer Dana Mai both agreed that the best way to retain our current reputation as a team of patriotism would be to expand our logo to also encompass our intense, aggressive style of play. A major concern for Capital Offense was staying true to their old mascot "Crazy Sammy". Mai was able to accomplish this by introducing us to the bald eagle image wearing a top hat. The team was instantly blown away by the new image and welcomed it with open arms. The new Mascot is still in need of a name though; the team is currently taking suggestions which can be e-mailed to the web designer at dsugg@umd.edu.
As for Graphic Designer Dana Mai, she is currently looking for her next project which is not limited to Graphic Design or logos. She can be contacted at dmai@umd.edu if you are interested in commissioning her for your own. Dana Comes HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by Capital Offense; who will be using her again in the future for all major artistic changes. Thanks again DANA!

Team Capital Offense and Team Boxer Bring Home Big Win:
The first official game under the same flag between Boxer and TCO was a major success. David Thompson of TCO was the general of the Feyadeen bad guys and Kent Jones of Boxer was the Feyadeen XO. Boxer Captain "Runaway" was in charge of the SOCOM Recon units, of which Ben Shaul, Robby Shaul and Fonzy of TCO were a part. Alex Swire-Clark of TCO was the Director of Intelligence in a game where intel was a major part.
The general for the Marines was our good friend "Greenman." It was an excellent game on both sides. In the end, the command and control and zone-defense approach to the strategy overwhelmed the Marines to pave the way for a huge victory.
This game marked the beginning to Capital Offense's 2009 Season, and if it is any indication, 2009 will be a great year!
Team Capital Offense and Team Boxer Announce Official Joint Venture: February 3, 2009, Washington, DC
Two forward-looking scenario paintball teams, Team Capital Offense out of Washington, DC and Team Boxer out of Charlotte, NC, are pleased to announce a new joint-venture that once again sets innovative precedents for the industry.
Team Boxer is a well recognized, well respected team in the southeast with a penchant for strategy in the scenario and MilSim markets. Boxer’s work organizing meticulous gameplans and organizational capabilities has won them accolades and success. From taking top awards at the world’s largest game, Skirmish ION to winning by a massive 3000 point margin at Command Decisions Wargames Center’s mega game, The Fulda Gap, Team Boxer is a force of ex-military professionals to be reckoned with in scenario paintball.
Team Capital Offense is a premier scenario paintball powerhouse recognized nationally for its fast-paced, aggressive play and major sponsorships that make tournament teams envious. Capital Offense fields a mix of current and ex-military as well as private sector professionals – some of whom have over 20 years experience in paintball. Capital Offense is best known in its role as one of Planet Eclipse’s flagship teams as well as its nighttime prowess at 24 hour games (both when using its ATN Corporation Gen III night vision and when playing old-school with no night vision). Coupled with its other key sponsors including Full Clip USA, VFORCE, Flurry Industries, Command Decisions Wargames Center and Splatbrothers Paintball, Capital Offense represents a dominating force in scenario paintball.
Capital Offense Captain, David C. Thompson stated, “This venture offers both Capital Offense and Boxer a lot of pros with no cons. Each team has unique skill-sets that it brings to the table, and in this case, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts.”
Boxer Captain, Wendell “Runaway” McInnis added “We’ve been playing with Capital Offense for several years now, and really enjoy working together on the field and hanging out off the field. And that’s really what distinguishes scenario paintball from other venues in the sport…which is it’s not all about winning, it’s more about having fun and enjoying the camaraderie. And on top of that, we will add depth and skill to Capital Offense, and vice versa. So it’s truly a win-win.”
The Teams embark on their 2009 schedule soon, and look forward to a successful season together. Please stop by their campsite if you happen to be at a game where they are in attendance. As always, the “HQ” is always open to old and new friends.

ARCHIVES - 2008 AND OLDER
Capital Offense Leads the Way to Victory, Reprising Role as Soviet Spetsnaz in Fulda Gap 2008 November 25, 2008, Hickory, NC
For the third year in a row, Capital Offense was pivotal in securing a victory in Fulda Gap 2008. This year marked the first time Team Captain, David C. Thompson retired as General to enjoy more trigger time on the field as Commander of the Soviet Spetsnaz Special Forces. As soon as the trophy for winning Fulda 2007 was awarded to him, Thompson named as his successor Kent “XMAN” Jones of Team Boxer – one of Capital Offense’s favorite teams. Thompson stated “As field general for my Dad in 2006 and General in 2007, and having won both games, I decided I would quit while I was ahead. I decided to pass the baton on to someone I knew would do a much better job as general than me, Kent Jones. Kent’s attention to detail and amazing chess-player analytical skills of game conditions made him and his XO, Wendell “Runaway” Macginis perfect choices to continue WARSAW’s dominance.”
Thompson was right – XMAN was able to take what had been close games in 2006 and 2007 and create a blowout with a final score of 4800 to 1200 points!!! Key to this victory was Team Capital Offense, who inserted behind enemy lines 1 hour before the game began. TCO’s objectives were to take and hold Fort Apache, a critical linchpin base located on high ground at the NATO Team’s 6:00. By using Apache as a staging ground, TCO would be able to launch a harassment campaign against NATO to either the east or the west and disrupt supply lines and mission objectives.
But first, TCO had to dislodge the 30 NATO players that started in Fort Apache. Inserting quietly, TCO used its precision stealth abilities to make the Team completely invisible to NATO, even though TCO was right on the doorstep of Apache. When the attack began, TCO launched a pincer attack on Apache, first hitting the back door and drawing the majority of Apache’s defenses to the back line. As soon as the bait was taken, TCO pivoted and deployed the second half of the pincer to come in from the front. The battle was short, and although TCO was outnumbered 2-1, it took the base and held it for the majority of the game.
From here, TCO was able to launch precise attacks and feed intelligence reports back to command on what was happening behind NATO’s lines. This allowed WARSAW’s infantry and artillery to mass precisely at the weakest points in the NATO defenses. The result was a devastating first day of battle with WARSAW controlling all major objectives.
The night game continued the dominance from the day. TCO utilized its specialized nighttime skills and technology to conduct hit and run operations on each of the 3 enemy bases worth points during the night phase. The game was to last through midnight. By 2200, TCO with help from other key teams like RATS and KRISIS had the entire field locked down under WARSAW control and the game was called.
The second day started off rough, but WARSAW (which had not expected such a fierce counter-punch from NATO early on Sunday) quickly redeployed forces to take the initiative away from NATO and secure a solid victory. Of course, this was a gameplan that had gone through many iterations, and in fact, Thompson and XMAN had been working on the strategy with the other Core Unit Commanders since Fulda 2007. For Capital Offense’s efforts in preparing for and carrying out the gameplan, the Team was awarded Most Valuable Core Unit.
Capital Offense wishes to extend a HUGE congratulations to XMAN and Runaway for making Fulda 2008 a major tactical and strategic success!! TCO also wishes to thank all those of Team Boxer, including Seoul Bro and everyone else who helped TCO this year in continuing its winning streak of awards. Most notably, Team Boxer attended Skirmish ION under the Capital Offense flag and selflessly contributed an enormous amount that culminated in XMAN winning Most Valuable Player at the World’s Largest Game, Skirmish ION! That marks two years in a row Capital Offense has won this award at the 4300+ player game!! Congratulations to David C. Thompson and Kent XMAN Jones for this huge accomplishment!
Capital Offense will see everyone in 2009!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!!!
Smart Parts Fought the Law, but the Law Won! October 9, 2008, Washington, DC
If it weren’t so much fun, it would almost become old news…but Team Capital Offense continued its winning streak in September at Blackcat Paintball’s 48 Hour event at Lumpy’s Paintball, Doomsday Warriors. Let’s repeat that…FORTY EIGHT HOUR event!! Needless to say, the Team needed a few days to recuperate after this one!
The scenario was based on a group of crazy doomsday terrorists in the US vs an elite team of FBI agents assigned to take them down and recover the explosives they had placed across the country. Like all Blackcat games, it had very interesting storylines, roleplaying and twists…including a “peaceful protest” of refs that the FBI mistook for terrorists and accidentally took out innocent bystanders…one of Capital Offense’s very own even had to be “executed” (had to be shot point blank in the back) for his crimes against humanity!
The 48 hour format was largely conceived and beta tested by Blackcat Paintball. Not yet widely used, this format provides an interesting set of challenges for both players and staff at the event. “This was our first 48 hour game,” Team Captain David C. Thompson stated, “and we loved every minute of it! It is really interesting to have an extra day and night to let your strategy unfold. Because we play nothing but 24 hour games, we pretty much have our timing down to a science in terms of what needs to be accomplished by when during the game. This event took us completely out of our comfort zone and really tested our endurance.”
Fortunately, Capital Offense’s endurance and its gear held up! There were two formal teams at this event. Capital Offense on the “Law Enforcement” side, and a Smart Parts Smart Corps team on the other. It was basically Planet Eclipse vs Smart Parts head to head. Although the Smart Parts team started out strong and gave a valiant effort the entire event, the final outcome was a decimation by Capital Offense. Capital not only secured most of their team’s missions, but they also ran counter-insurgency style operations to keep Smart Parts from completing their missions at the same time. The end result was a victory of more than double the points over the doomsday warriors!
The weather did not cooperate for much of the game, making it even more challenging with monsoon-like rains, mudslides, thunderstorms, and at times, high winds. Accurate shots were few and far between, so the teams had to focus on getting up close and personal. Team member James Bensinger added, “Paint only had an accuracy of about 20 feet because of the rain and wind, so we had to really work to stay hidden until right on top of our targets before taking them out.” Capital Offense’s awesome stealth skills and camouflage helped them do just that – utilizing waist high grass in many areas to creep up and “assassinate” their targets at close range.
Despite all the challenges of the game, there were moments of sheer brilliance that necessitate mention. These include:
Carl Silverlock – is the Team’s track star, and it showed this weekend when he was able to single handedly keep the other team from completing a mission by shooting and scooting, eventually taking out 7 players. He also provided critical cover fire for Capital Offense’s search teams during the night game, eliminating threats like a seasoned sniper, even though he prefers to be in your face shooting 15BPS!
Ben Shaul – was able to hold off an offensive early Sunday morning by sniping on a hillside and taking out the opposing players without ever being seen. He was also able to maneauver in the tall grass without ever seeing the other players because he had support from below the hill – excellent communications over the radios from fellow player Lisa Thompson allowed Ben to be directed to the targets and take shots at perfectly timed intervals.
Lisa Thompson – showed that she has exceptional control of the game situation and is able to monitor and achieve current objectives, but also understand how those current objectives fit into the overall strategy of the game. By doing this, Lisa was able to free up Team Captain David C Thompson to have some fun in the front while she coordinated, managed, and executed the Team’s movements in an incredibly precise fashion.
Jonathan Fazio – was on a mission this weekend. He wanted the opposing General’s head. And he got it…seven times. It seemed that no matter where the General went, Fonzy was there to take him out…several times, he even managed to sneak all the way to the enemy Command Post to wait for the General to come through the front door, only to be met with Fonzy’s signature EGO three round burst.
Mike Smith – is another super-fast runner, despite his nicotine intake…so when the rest of the Team was out of breath after reaching the summit of one of the field’s major hills, it was no surprise to see that Mike had already leapt forward and cleared the entire field of more than 10 players…he quickly took the element of surprise and leveraged it to run building to building, using speed and aggression to do all the dirty work for the rest of the Team.
Chris Vara – although the final battle did not mean much in terms of winning the game (since TCO had already locked that down), that didn’t mean the Team took it easy. Right off the break, Vara charged to past the 50yd line to get inside the building that held a role-player who had “vital intelligence” for winning the final battle. While under heavy fire, Vara secured the person, interrogated him, got the information to a key prop, got the prop while in enemy territory, and moved the prop to a secure location, ensuring that Capital Offense not only won the game, but also the final battle.
Robby Shaul – as one of the Team’s more experience night players, Robby was able to pick up major points late into the night Saturday. A mission came in requiring the location of props…GPS coordinates were given and Robby plugged them into the Team’s handheld and went to work. Robby snuck deep into enemy territory, put his night vision and GPS to good use, and was able to find the small prop, a wad of cash, hidden by some tires…before the other team could figure out what was going on, Robby was a ghost.
Dwayne Humphries – spent much of the weekend taking pictures for paintball magazines, but still had some time to rack up some kills, with a pistol no less! Dwayne went out, carrying only an 8 shot pistol and was able to hunt down the enemy general and take him out near his own CP. The funny part was, the general just walked down a trail to meet with Team Captain David Thompson to barter a deal for props…Dwayne not only got points for the general kill, but also made him walk double the distance only to get screwed over by the deal Thompson cunningly developed!
James Bensinger – sealed the game for Capital Offense. There was one final push that the enemy was preparing that could have driven Capital Offense and the Law Enforcement forces out of the central town during the final battle. The enemy loaded all of their available forces into a van, which was simulating a helicopter insertion. The plan was for the van to drop right in the middle of Capital Offense’s perimeter and push the Team out of their defensive stronghold. However, James intercepted and ran up to within range of the van with a rocket launcher…James did his trademark “bunker-buster” move, and launched a rocket right into the front windshield of the van. As the “THUD” wrung out across the field, so did the cheers from James’ teammates that the final threat was neutralized!
Will Berry – is the Team’s newest member, but he acted like a seasoned pro at his first event with Capital Offense. His real-world military training served him well as he was able to post up in a ravine at the crucial “50 yard line” of the field almost the entire weekend. His ability to stay concealed and remain cool under pressure allowed him to operate with impunity as he continuously took out wave after wave of opposing team players. They just kept sending more lemmings to the slaughter near the ravine, and the Team kept hearing Will proclaim over the radio that another opposing player was on his way back to the deadzone.
Capital Offense heads south next month for a 26 hour Halloween game at Splatbrothers Paintball. Until then!!

Capital Offense is E-X-P-A-N-D-I-N-G!!!
Washington, DC August 15, 2008
Anyone hanging around the Capital Offense campsite recently has noticed that the Team has added some power to its ranks. Carl Silverlock, a student at Kent State, Nick Toro, and Aaron Chudosky, full time members of the United States Marine Corps, based out of Quantico Virginia’s Warfighting Lab, and Zach “Bishop” Edwards, a veteran player recruited from one of Capital Offense's partner-teams, ODX, have all joined Capital Offense.
Capital Offense has also, finally, struck a deal with veteran paintballers and reporters for the sport, Jason "Foolybear" Lineberger and Dwayne Humphries. Foolybear is an editor and writer for several major paintball publications and Dwayne is a skilled freelance photographer for the same publications. The pair has played with Capital Offense for some time now, and the Team is excited to bring them formally into the ranks!
Each of these players bring an outstanding level of commitment, skill and personality to the Team. We welcome you aboard!
Additionally, Capital Offense has several new recruits in the wings, including 6 excellent players from the United States Coast Guard. Some of these recruits will get to test their skills with the Team at the upcoming 48 hour game in Ohio. Team Captain David C. Thompson had this to say, "We are excited that we have brought on such great talent to the Team, and continue to find new players that fit the elite Capital Offense mold. We are especially thrilled to be recruiting so well within the United States Military. Capital Offense has always taken the duty of supporting our troops very seriously, and we will always have the welcome mat out to our brave men and women in uniform that defend this Country."
Capital Offense wins another MVP at Skirmish ION 08
Wednesday, July 16, 2008
For the second year in a row, Team Capital Offense, walked away with another Most Valuable Player award at Skirmish’s ION 08. At ION 07, Team Captain, David C. Thompson won MVP at the world’s largest game (over 4000 people). This year, that honor was bestowed to Kent “XMAN” Jones of Team Capital Offense and Team Boxer. XMAN, along with Boxer Captain, Wendell “Runaway” Mac and Dave “Seoulbro” Kwon, served as the Allied Forces’ Tactical Operations Center (TOC); effectively running all radio communications between the 10 companies of approx 150 players. Their duty was difficult as it entailed the organization and shifting of 1500 players around the field over a 24 hour timeframe. While the rest of Capital Offense was outside having fun shooting people, Xman, Runaway and Seoulbro were inside the command tent doing the gritty work, which they always excel at.
The Allied General, Phil Whalen, had this to say in his awards ceremony remarks: “He [Kent] and his crew were incredibly professional and absolutely essential to keeping things running. A true MVP.” And as for the rest of Capital Offense, the General added: “These guys own the night, and they were stomping Germans all day as well. Thanks for coming up again, guys.”
This award marks the continuation of a two year winning streak of awards – Capital Offense has won at least one major award at every event the Team has attended over the last two years. Team Captain David C. Thompson had this to say: “When you come to a game like ION where there are thousands of players making plays, it is great when you can still walk away with an award…that means something truly spectacular happened that you were a part of. In this case, Kent, Wendell, and Dave Kwon truly deserved the recognition they received…they held together 1500 players against formidable odds.”
Capital Offense had a great time hanging out with its sponsors and meeting new players. The Team is taking a well deserved vacation in August to work on several sponsor initiatives, including a scenario training weekend. In September, the Team heads to Lumpy’s Paintball in Smithfield, Ohio for Blackcat Paintball’s 48 HOUR paintball event, Doomsday Warriors!! Check out www.blackcatpaintball.com for more details on the game. Capital Offense hopes to see you there!!

The Legend Grows!
Team Capital Offense (TCO) continued its winning streak and exceptional performance this weekend at the Command Decisions Wargames Center in North Carolina. The Team received another Most Valuable Team award as well as a Most Valuable Executive Officer (XO) award at MPP’s Operation Cobra 24 hour scenario game. Capital Offense has now won two major awards at every event it has attended this year!
Operation Cobra was a strategic turning point in WWII subsequent to the Allied landing at D-Day. Cobra signified the Allied forces’ transition from a high-intensity infantry division into a mechanized assault force that broke through the beach-head at Normandy to expand the liberation of France. This game, like all of MPP’s games used as much of real history as possible to frame the missions and the overall objectives. Capital Offense was the tip-of-the-spear mission-running force for the Allied command.
Day one started off with Capital Offense seeking to secure the entire eastern side of a 90 acre field. Compounding this naturally difficult task was the fact that Capital Offense only had 12 players to accomplish this mission. However, the Team fought hard and recruited other teams and walk-on players to fill gaps in the defensive lines that managed to hold the German team at bay so that the Allied command could then use Capital Offense as a mission-running team behind the flanking line and insert the Team behind enemy lines.
Capital Offense spent much of the weekend behind those lines, harassing the enemy with impunity. When not running missions for points, Capital Offense had the overall goal of disrupting reinforcements and command/control for the German team by assaulting their Command Post (CP), located well behind the main lines of engagement. The Team did its job well, accomplishing multiple CP kills, multiple General kills and multiple XO kills during the course of the game. At one point, the Team decided to go inside the CP before blowing it and take some intelligence pictures of enemy strength and disposition…and the Team just couldn’t leave the CP without leaving a kind message for the opposing General on his dry-erase board! Fortunately, the opposing General, Chris Molles, and his team Rogue Cell are good friends of TCO!
The night game, like all MPP games, do not allow night vision, so TCO had to go back to the old-school way of doing things and use their natural nighttime prowess to accomplish objectives and get more CP kills. At one point, Team members Lisa Thompson and Mike Smith were able to charge the CP under a hail of enemy fire and spotlights and destroy it before being taken out themselves – their sacrifice gained the Allied forces 150 points to the overall score.
Other missions were more surgical, requiring Capital Offense to enter locations without making a sound or firing a shot…the Team spent hours in pitch black forests locating props and relaying intelligence to central command on enemy team movements. The Team accomplished more than 4 missions over the weekend without ever having to fire a shot.
On day two, Capital Offense and the other teams on the Allied forces were able to secure victory. At one point, perhaps the pinnacle of Capital Offense’s performance during the game, the Team divided into four groups (one group of 3, two groups of 2, and one group of five) and accomplished 4 missions at once while also keeping the German team from accomplishing two of their missions in the same area! Team member James “Cookie” Bensinger was particularly effective leading a force of other teams to victory in stealing multiple heavy props from enemy territory and getting them back to the Allied CP without a shot fired – a true SpecOps style mission and result! The Team further aggravated the enemy by using strategic “air strikes” (for the speedballers out there, yes, scenario paintball simulates airstrikes!) to keep a substantially larger force from being able to take their final objective out of Capital Offense’s hands by the time the final horn blew.
After running up and down a steep mountain grade carrying heavy props all weekend, TCO was happy to crack open a few beers and enjoy their success at the awards ceremony when it was announced that the Allied forces kept history alive by winning the game.
It was a terrific and hard fought battle on everyone’s part. Capital Offense would like to thank Ferg and his Command Decisions staff, including their head ref Bryce (a loyal Eclipse user as well) for doing another great job, and to Ben from MPP for coming up with another great scenario.

Capital Offense Command Post, February 21, 2008
1330 Hours, EST
Washington, DC
Two Weeks, Two Games, Four Awards
Capital Offense officially kicked off its 2008 season with a bang, playing two 26 hour scenario games on back to back weekends and winning Most Valuable Team at both events as well as Best Sportsmanship and Most Formidable Opponent awards at Blackcat Paintball Productions’ Survival of the Fittest 24 hour scenario game at Skyline Paintball and Big-T’s Scenario Productions at Splatbrothers Paintball.
“The Team really wanted to make a statement at the first game of the season, and I certainly think we accomplished that here”
said Don Berthiaume.
Both games turned out to be complex chess matches of strategy between the hundreds of players that made up the teams. Capital Offense was in charge of securing vital strategic locations during both games and directing massive numbers of walk-ons and other teams; as well as serving as the primary Fragmentary (FRAGO) mission running team for its’ side during both events.
Particularly noteworthy performances came from Lisa Thompson, who single-handedly charged an enemy controlled fortification, outnumbered 12-1, and breached the doorway that led to Capital Offense taking over a base for significant points to the final score; Chris Vara and Don Berthiaume who led a dramatic charge to re-take an important base; Mike Smith and James Bensinger for holding the same base during a night game while being significantly outnumbered; Robby Shaul for sniping an entire force of 15 attacking a strategic hillside close to a friendly Command Post; Ben Shaul for holding a crucial base for mission points even though outnumbered and alone, David Sugg for multiple CP kills; Lisa Purdy for solid command and control from the CP, ensuring Capital Offense got key missions; and Jon Fazio for racking up an impressive number of barrel tags while sneaking behind enemy lines during the night games.
“All in all, it was a great effort by everybody and a testament to how well this group plays together. This is going to be a great year” said Captain David C. Thompson.
Capital Offense and Full Clip USA Join Forces
For Immediate Release, April 11, 2008
Washington, DC, 10:00 AM EST
Team Capital Offense is proud to announce that it has entered into an agreement with Full Clip USA for the 2008 season. TCO will be sporting a combination of Full Clip's Rack Rig Multicam MOLLE gear, their Lightweight Modular Assault Vest (LMAV), and their Multicam BDU uniforms, and of course a combination of their paintball-specific MOLLE pouches.
“We are thrilled to be working with Full Clip USA this year” Team Captain David C. Thompson said today. “Full Clip’s line of products is not only incredibly well made and durable, but also looks amazing with our Multicam uniforms. In full Multicam gear, my Team is practically invisible!”
Full Clip USA is also heavily involved in the expansion of the Military Simulation (MilSim) market in paintball, a goal that Capital Offense fully embraces. Thompson continued, “For too long, the paintball industry has had too much tunnel-vision on the extreme-games aspect of the sport alone. In so doing, the industry has forgotten about the thousands of players that just want to sneak around the woods and shoot at each other. Now with scenario paintball having caught on, the pendulum is swinging back a bit towards woodsball, and Capital Offense and Full Clip are looking forward to working together to continue this momentum.”
Full Clip USA provides top-of-the-line Modular Lightweight Load-bearing Equipment (MOLLE) gear designed with a paintballer in mind. They also use official Crye Precision Multicam material to make their BDUs and MOLLE gear. This is the stuff that the REAL guys use! Their products are above MilSpec and are built to handle the rigors of scenario paintball.

Team Capital Offense Gearing Up for 2008!
Many have noticed and commented that they have not seen Team Capital Offense (TCO) at any scenarios in a few weeks. In fact, TCO has been asked by several Generals for recent games to help their team bring home victories and has had to decline. As is customary, we have blocked off most of January and February for training/off-season work and procurement.
Capital Offense is gearing up for a strong showing in 2008. Our official 2008 season kicks off at Skyline Paintball on March 28-30 at a Blackcat Paintball production. From there, we immediately turn south and head to our neighbors at Splatbrothers Paintball in Richmond, VA. After that, we head to NC for an MPP Productions game at one of our favorite fields, Command Decisions Wargames Center.
In the offseason, TCO has been hard at work with its sponsors to outline goals/objectives for the coming year. As we have happily reported previously, TCO is now a Flagship Scenario Team for Planet Eclipse LTD. TCO is ecstatic for this recognition, and much of the Team has switched to EGO8s from our still-outstanding ETEKs. With the enhanced firepower of the EGO8’s, TCO intends to be an even more threatening force on the field. The mere sight of 20 EGO8’s coming one’s way is enough for anyone to order a retreat!
Also, TCO’s other Flagship sponsorship with ATN Corp. is off to a great start. TCO is in the process of procuring even more Night Vision Goggles (and a few other surprises) and looks forward to demonstrating the power of ATN technology to players across the country this year. If you attend a game with us, please feel free to stop by our area and get a demo and some information. You won’t be disappointed!!
TCO is also happy to announce that it has retained relationships with Flurry Industries and VFORCE goggles. The Team will continue to sport the outstanding Flurry’s Emissary Vests, but in a cool new color; as well as the awesome VFORCE Grills, which is truly the best goggle system the Team has ever used. Of course, our friends at Scenario Supply are on for another year as well.
In the meantime, those at local fields in Tennessee, Georgia, and of course, our headquarters in Washington, DC, will likely see Capital Offense training, drilling and preparing for total domination over the next few weeks. TCO looks forward to hitting the ground running in March and having another great year!
ALSO – this is the time of year when we like to recruit. If interested in playing with TCO, please contact us. You can reach us through this website or by calling 202-222-5319.
Team Capital Offense And Planet Eclipse Expand Relationship:
Wednesday, January 30, 2008, Washington , DC
Capital Offense is proud to announce today that it has expanded its relationship with Planet Eclipse and will now be a Flagship sponsored team. Team Captain David C. Thompson stated “We are very happy with the recent developments pertaining to Planet Eclipse. We began our relationship last year to prove that Eclipse gear is the best in paintball – not just tournaments, but also in scenario and milsim environments. We are huge advocates of everything Eclipse does and we believe that we demonstrated how well their gear works in the scenario paintball world. The fact that we have won a major award at every official event we have attended since becoming an Eclipse sponsored team highlights the ability of their products to make a real difference.”
Capital Offense will be a primary voice for Planet Eclipse in scenario paintball and is working on a number of exciting initiatives with the company. There will be many more developments in the coming months, so stay tuned! In the meantime, look for Capital Offense at your next scenario event and feel free to come up and ask any questions you may have about Planet Eclipse’s line of markers and accessories.
Capital Offense Winning Streak Continues:
Team Capital Offense has been on a role this year. The Team has won a major award at every event it has attended in the 2007 season - no small feat. Last weekend, Capital Offense traveled south to Hopewell, VA to Splatbrothers Paintball for a 26 hour MXS event. The Team is happy to report that its’ streak continues after winning another Most Valuable Team award for its’ diligent work to provide the General with up to date intelligence, a quick and deadly mission-running unit, and the experience needed to hold the forward lines even while under incredible duress by a force of very skilled opposing teams.
Team Captain David C. Thompson stated “This might be our most significant victory this year because we were short staffed with only nine players; there of which were brand new to our Team and were unfamiliar with our tactics, rhythm and style. It speaks volumes about the quality and cohesion of this Team and of each member on it that we performed as well as we did this weekend; especially against very good teams that I know and respect such as BeBop, ODX, Knightstalkers, and many others.”
Capital Offense Continues to Expand:
Capital Offense is pleased to announce 3 new members to its expanding roster - James Bensinger, Kenny Dornhecker and Lisa Purdy.
Capital Offense has been looking at James for about one year now at the local paintball field in Washington, DC - Hogback Mountain Paintball. James has shown skill and audacity in his play and has always gotten along great with the Team. The Team is very excited to now deploy James as the second part of its new Sniper Unit that will begin to wreak havoc on opposing teams and provide vital support to Capital Offense during the Team's primary role in scenarios - Mission Runners.
Kenny is the brother of starting shooter Andrew Dornhecker and has played with the Team during the 2007 season. Kenny just returned from Iraq as a member of the 10th Special Forces Unit. A true patriot and hero of the United States, Capital Offense is ecstatic to have Kenny as a part of the Team. Team Captain David C. Thompson stated "We are, of course, always looking for military personnel to be a part of this Team, partly because we all respect them so much, and partly because of their unique skill sets that improve our Team's ability to win. When I first met Kenny I asked if he was happy to be back from Iraq, to which he responded - 'No I'm looking forward to going back...it's too boring over here!' I knew right then I wanted that guy on my Team!!"
Lisa comes to the Team from co-workers and fellow Team members Bill Steinman, and Don Berthiaume, who scouted her paintball abilities early on. Lisa provides a critical role on the Team's left flank and special duty roster. Her aggressive style will help give the Team a one-two punch on the left flank.
The addition of these Team members along with the recent addition of Chris Vara make Capital Offense even more formidable. The Team looks forward to implementing updated tactical plans that take into account the additional skill sets and larger size of the fighting unit that will allow Capital Offense to remain in front of the competition.
Capital Offense Wishes to Welcome New Recruits:
Capital Offense is pleased to announce that it will have 3 new full time members on its' starting roster. Details are still in the works, but the Team can formally announce today that Chris Vara will assume the role of Team Sniper and Rear Defense - a critical role that has needed filling for some time. Chris' poise and skill on the paintball field will make him a valuable asset to the Team and a serious threat to the other side! See the About Us page for Chris' bio.
Team Captain, David C. Thompson stated "We are thrilled to welcome new recruits. Chris will add depth to the Team's abilities as well as provide a vital role in the scenario-world, which is our sniper and rear defense. Not unlike a Tournament Team's Back Man or Swing Man, our Sniper will deploy right and left to outflank the OpFor as well as protect the Team's 6:00 when on long marches. Plus Chris will be in charge of a very special part of our night operations, which we cannot disclose at this time - but be on the lookout for some really cool things in that area in the near future!" The other 2 names will be released shortly, so stay tuned!
Capital Offense Wins Big at MPP
Capital Offense has won a major award at every event it has attended this year, and that streak continued at Millinium Paintball Production's Battle for Guadalcanal where Capital Offense took home another Most Valuable Team Award!
9-26-07, 08:30, Hickory, NC
Capital Offense has had the chance to play several new producers' games this year, and the Battle for Guadalcanal was the Team's first MPP event. The game was excellent and Capital Offense brought its game with it! TCO was on the Imperial Japanese Forces, tasked with holding the "islands." Basically, the Japanese had to hold most all of the 90 acre host field, Command Decisions.
The opening battle was furious with TCO holding an outpost base that the American Forces needed to establish a Command Post. With 19 players from TCO in attendance, plus a handful of walk-ons and other TCO friends, the group was able to hold the porous base for 30 minutes longer than the game producer and Americans had expected. TCO took forward positions in trenches and outposts and held off massive forces. The Team's ETeks and EGOs really helped to sling the paint out and the Team's new GRILL goggles, supplied by VFORCE and their Flurry Vests took several bounces during the opening drive, allowing those players to stay in the game and fight.
The brutal fighting continued throughout the day with the Japanese in a slim lead leading into the night. Night games are where Capital Offense truly thrives and excells above most teams. Because this was a WWII-based game, TCO could not use their Generation III Night Vision Goggles from ATN Corp. However, the Team still managed to wreak havoc on the Americans all throughout the night. TCO ran and successfully completed 4 missions during the night, running all over the field on prop missions, assassination missions (including one General Kill), and recon. TCO's work during the night helped the Japanese take a massive lead heading into Day Two.
Perhaps it was the month off in August for some R&R, perhaps it was the 92 degree heat and running up mountain-sides, but Day Two started SLOW! The team got up sore and tired; grumpy with each other and feeling off their game. However, once the first shots of the day rang out, everyone quickly bounced back and took control of the game. The Japanese Forces maintained and expanded their lead with the help of TCO leading many successful missions, including the final mission to take the main firebase by the end of the game. The base rests in an open field and 14 tanks and close to 500 paintballers duked it out in the open fields and thru the trenches. The battle was fantastic, and at the end of it, Capital Offense was standing in the main objective; the American Forces repelled back to their base.
It was a terrific game and well run on all fronts. TCO would like to thank Ben at MPP for coming up with a great game; Ferg and the Command Decisions' crew for running the game in a very efficient and friendly manner; a special shout out to Bryce, the head ref and Tank and the rest of the refs for doing such a great job; and all the players on both teams for playing a clean, fun game.
We will see everyone in the trenches again soon!
Planet Eclipse Continues Winning Streak:
We are of course always happy when our sponsors have good things happen. Planet Eclipse has been on a roll in 2007, and their winning streak continues. Paintballers around the globe are witnessing why Eclipse markers are the best in the business! See their latest press release on WARPIG here.
Capital Offense Continues to Perform - Standing Above the Competition at Skirmish's ION 2007!

A world record 4300+ players attended Skirmish's ION 2007 for a paintball battle of epic proportions. Out of those thousands of players, Team Captain David C. Thompson won Most Valuable Player for his work behind enemy lines feeding intelligence to the Allied Command.
7-17-07, 10:30 EST, Washington, DC
Capital Offense's unit was unusually small for the world's largest paintball game - only 9 shooters. However, the damage inflicted on the opposing team by those 9 shooters was devastating. TCO's strategy for the game shifted from a frontal assault force to a light, mobile recon team that infiltrated the enemy's lines and fed intelligence back to the Allied General to strategically deploy reinforcements.

TCO spent much of its time in untraveled terrain - swamps, briar patches, dense thickets of trees and bushes; avoiding contact unless absolutely necessary. Instead, TCO moved with impunity among thousands of players and achieved numerous mission objectives for points (such as Ben Shaul's death-defying flag hang while under fire by over 500 enemy combatants), led larger forces on assaults, and spied for their team. "My Team was bloodied and muddy, with maybe a few leeches here and there, but we got the job done. In fact, there were only four times in 24 hours where the Team was operating with less than 50% of its shooters. Our ability to stay alive and in the game was vital to our accomplishing so much with so few people." - David C. Thompson
Thompson was able to infiltrate enemy lines by leaving his gun and recognizable gear behind and using heavy cover fire, provided by Team members Jonathan D. Fazio, Robby Shaul, Mike Smith, Kate Hamann, Ben Shaul, Lisa Thompson, and Don Berthiuame, to mix in with the enemy during the mass confusion set off by the roar of Eclipse ETeks. Thompson immediately radioed Central Command and moved swiftly to establish a listening post behind the enemy Command Center and discovered the battle plans for the next hour. Thompson then moved out among the enemy players, making up stories as he went to gather more intelligence, which when fed back to Command, kept the German Forces pinned down on all fronts. Holding the Germans back with strategic reinforcements kept them from achieving any significant points for the majority of Day One - a loss that proved to be insurmountable.
But the night game was when things really got interesting. Using their newly acquired ATN Corp. Generation III night vision goggles, Capital Offense moved back into the belly of the beast and was able to hold off an entire flank by themselves for the entire night without a single casualty in four hours. One notable performance was from Don Berthiaume, who became a pure animal when given the GEN III goggles. Moving swiftly through the dense forest under zero-light conditions, Don was able to outflank and eliminate multiple players with ease. The night-time point team, consisting of Fazio, Berthiaume, Robby Shaul, and David Thompson were almost giddy with the incredible advantage the NVGs gave the Team.
Fazio humorously explained, "It really feels like we are Gods out there with these NVGs. No one could see ANYTHING that night. There was no moon, few stars, and a dense forest canopy that left a near zero-light condition. But our ATN gear did the trick - it was really like shooting ducks in a barrel! Grown men and women shouldn't be allowed to have that much fun!!"
Day Two provided the German Army with no break in the action as US and French forces (temporarily) joined forces to finish off the battered German lines. TCO went back to work in recon, operating in true Special Forces fashion, moving undetected, sniping high value targets and relaying information. The final outcome of the game was a US victory by over 140 points; a decisive victory.
All in all, the world's largest paintball game proved to be a colossal amount of fun and gave TCO the ability to field-test new tatics and techniques, which proved invaluable and highlighted the Team's abilities that will be fully utilized in future events.
A special thanks goes out to the Allied General, Phil Whalen, our Airborne Commanding Officer, Dan "Barbarosa," and all the teams that made this event a real thrill. A particular note goes out to the Tri-State Special Operations Team who not only generously donated a Tippman X-7 to MVP David Thompson, but also provided incredible base security for 24 hours straight to protect the General and divvy out the missions. Congratulations to all on a job well done

The Capital Offense Goes Even More High-Tech
The Capital Offense is proud to announce its' newest sponsor, American Technologies Network Corporation (ATN), which will supply the Team with high-tech Night Vision and Infrared laser target acquisition systems.
6-28-07, 12:00 WCT S. San Francisco, CA
The Capital Offense is proud to announce that it has evolved to a new level with the combined forces of ATN; a major distributor of night vision and thermal imaging devices to the military and security specialists worldwide. ATN's equipment will allow TCO to take control of the night by being one of the best equipped teams in the scenario paintball world.
Team Captain David C. Thompson stated today "This agreement with ATN puts us in a new echelon and really increases our dominance in the sport. We could not be happier working with ATN. They are a first-class business that is a pleasure to deal with on a personal and professional level. And their products will give us a critical edge in 24 hour competitions."
Many teams choose to sit on the sidelines during the night phase of 24 hour scenario paintball competitions. Others that play are often nervous to play too aggressively for fear of stumbling on a large ambush. ATN's night vision and Infrared target acquisition equipment will allow TCO to operate with impunity during the night and pick up major points that are often "left on the table."
Added Thompson, "Just wait until teams see 15-20 guys all with GenIII goggles walking around the staging area before the night game...the fear factor alone will be useful to us."
However, Thompson and Capital Offense have another purpose in working with ATN besides improved night play for the Team. TCO seeks to expand ATN's opportunities in the sport and begin to develop a market for night vision technology so that other teams and players can begin to improve their night games. By doing so, the number of people wanting to play 24 hour paintball will increase, and thus the sport will continue to grow in a positive direction.
Check out ATN's equipment at The Capital Offense's tent during upcoming events. Also, be sure to check out www.atncorp.com for more information.

The Capital Offense Praise Continues!!
The Capital Offense competed in Splatbrothers' Battle of Okinawa this past weekend and rolled over the competition., winning the "Most Formidable Opponent" award.
6-21-07, 15:00 EST, Washington, DC
The Capital Offense is enjoying some well deserved R&R this week after steam-rolling the competition at Splatbrothers. Playing for the Japanese team, TCO laid seige to all corners of the field, earning the ominous "Most Formidable Opponent" award, which is given out by the opposing team's general. TCO was tasked by its' General, Rusty Lloyd of Old Man Militia, to hold the left flank of the field for the first half of the day. The Team stepped up and successfully held the flank from constant enemy bombardment. TCO was so successful that by lunchtime, the Team pushed beyond the city on the left flank and entered the enemy's Command Post area, the famed Towers of Power field.
After lunch, The Capital Offense carried out their only special "frag" mission of the day, which was to blow a building within 30 minutes. Astonishingly, the building was destroyed by Capital Offense personnel in just 2.5 minutes after receiving the orders. It was the fastest "mission complete" of the day.
After this victory, Capital Offense went on a seek-and-destroy operation on the right side of the Splatbrothers field, which is extremely dense underbrush. Operating in perfect harmony, TCO advanced in 2x2 cover formation with a sniper detachment some 20 yards in front on point. The Team flushed out enemy snipers and demolition teams and circumvented the enemy's CP once again for a major push that culminated in the entire Japanese forward units over-running the enemy base.
Led by Capital Offense, the Japanese team continued its' momentum all the way through the end of the game. At one point, it appeared the US team would rally and catch back up in points, but the offensive was quickly quelled as Capital Offense worked with other excellent teams on the Japanese side, including OMM, Anarchy, and others, to push the enemy back to their starting station.
Capital Offense starting shooter Don Berthiaume had a particularly good day as the Team's medic. His performance was invaluable to the Team's efforts. The Team's newest starting shooter, Andrew Dornhecker, brought his brother Kenny and friend Craig, who also proved to be excellent players for the Team. Andrew and Mike Smith of the starting roster also played "Pointman" during the day and did an excellent job.

More Praise for Capital Offense!!
The Capital Offense has once again gained praise for its leadership and play in the recent Vietnam Patrol scenario game.

5-16-07, 12:00 EST, Hickory, NC
The Capital Offense went to battle at the Command Decisions Wargames Center in Hickory, NC this weekend, playing the infamous Viet Cong forces in CDWC's Vietnam Patrol. The Team had another outstanding performance, executing the same tactics that made the real enemy a success during Vietnam - sabotage, ambushes and assassinations conducted through a hit and run insurgency.
Two Capital Offense shooters, Jonathan D. Fazio and newcomer Andrew Dornhecker both won Most Valuable Player for their incredible play at the field's largest base. They both won the award because they took over the base together and held off over 30 of the enemy for more than 20 minutes, allowing the rest of Capital Offense to complete a secret mission without having to worry about enemy reinforcements. Congrats to both of them for a job well done.
Team Captain David C. Thompson said "Both teams did extremely well and played with the utmost sportsmanship. It was great to see everyone playing the game the way it is supposed to be played. I especially want to thank members of Shadow Company, Rogue Cell, Lethal Paintball, Team AFC, and all the others who helped make it a great day!"

The Capital Offense Welcomes Its' Newest Member
The Capital Offense is currently in a state of expansion and is pleased to announce that it has picked up a new player for the starting roster!
4-25-07, 09:45 EST, Washington, DC
The Capital Offense would like to officially welcome Mike Smith to the starting roster. Mike was recruited by starting shooter, Ben Shaul, and proved to be an invaluable resource at the Team's first big event of the year at Skyline Paintball's and Blackcat Production's GI Joe game. Mike successfully carried out two critical role-playing scenarios that eventually led to critical points for the Team's victory in the final calculations.
Mike has been playing paintball for four years, mostly in Virginia. Mike has a love for the game and thrives off the action. This is the first formal team that Mike has joined and he is very excited to become a member.
Mike stated "I am excited to join The Capital Offense because everyone shares my love and passion for the sport. I am looking forward to completeing many missions and scenerios as a part of the Team."
Captain David C. Thompson reiterated the Team's feelings, "Mike was one of those rare cases where you only need to see a player one time to understand their skill sets and what they can bring to the Team. We are happy to have him with us, and we look forward to seeing him grow as a professional scenario paintball player."
Mike's other interests besides paintball include; fishing, camping, boating, gambling, and running just to name a few. He lives in Herndon, VA and is a full time student at Marymount University in Arlington VA. Mike works for UPS as a supervisor in the evenings to pay the paintball bills!

The Capital Offense To Reprise Its Role As The Viet Cong in May
Sometimes, it's just more fun to be the bad guys! That's why The Capital Offense will be reprising their role as the dangerous foe, the Viet Cong at Command Decisions' Wargame Center's May 12 game, Vietnam Patrol, Battle of the Iron Giants.
4-10-07, 18:45 EST, Hickory, NC
The Capital Offense is as patriotic as paintball teams can get. In fact, the Team's logo is an ominous picture of Uncle Sam rolling up his sleeves to get his hands messy with the enemy! However, there are times where a scenario team must branch out and play the villian, and May 12 will be one of those times for Capital Offense!
Vietnam Patrol is an exciting game on an incredible scenario field located near Hickory, NC. The Command Decisions Wargame Center, run by ex-SpecOps operative Andrew Ferguson, offers players the chance to explore some extremely detailed scenario games. Vietnam Patrol will re-create a historical tank battle with far-reaching implications for both countries during the Vietnam Conflict.
The Capital Offense will be playing the insidious and dangerous foe, the Viet Cong - South Vietnamese guerrilla fighters bent on breaking the will of the United States. Capital Offense will carry out sieges, explosives and heavy weapons missions, lay booby traps, hide among the civilian population, create confusion, and most importantly, build a large body count!
In an attempt to get a sense for how this year's strategy will differ from last, Team Captain, David C. Thompson stated "I won't go into our strategy at all. Just know that it will be good and the other side will have their hands full!" In an attempt to get further clarification, the Command Post spoke to Atlanta Division Chief, Chris George, who reiterated "We never give out specific details of our gameplan before an event. Everyone will just have to wait and see. But rest assured, we did some major damage last year and are prepared to do everything better this year! This is one of my personal favorite games, and we are going to hit it hard this year."
For everyone playing for the American Forces, we would just recommend to watch out for the Men in Black Pajamas!

Flurry Industries and The Capital Offense Enter Sponsorship Agreement for 2007
Flurry Industries, makers of the incredible Emissary Tactical Vest, have entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Capital Offense for 2007.

4-10-07, 18:30 EST, Washington, DC
The Capital Offense is proud to announce that Flurry Industries will be sponsoring the Team in 2007. Capital Offense has been a long-time supporter of Flurry and already had the Emissary Tactical Vest as a required piece of the uniform. This sponsorship solidifies a relationship between two powerhouse entities in the scenario paintball industry. Team Captain David C. Thompson stated today that "Flurry Industries represents the best in tactical vest design, which is why we wear them and support this excellent company. As scenario players, I wanted my Team to have a vest that looked great in a tactical sense, but was functional to the needs of the paintball world; that is, a vest that provides good support, modular options, and as few hard spots on the chest area as possible to decrease the chances of a solid break. Flurry provides this, and I am proud to be working with Chris and the Flurry Industries Team."
The Capital Offense will be wearing the digital camo Emissary Tactical Vest with the Team logo on the back. Look for them at your next scenario game!
The Capital Offense is proudly sponsored by: Planet Eclipse, VFORCE, ScenarioSupply.com, Flurry Industries, and Hogback Mountain Paintball

The Capital Offense Takes Top Prize From Blackcat Productions
Capital Offense went home from its season opener with a big win and the coveted "Best Supporting Team" Award from Blackcat Paintball's 24 hour GI Joe Scenario.

4-5-07, 15:30 EST, Strasburg, VA
Capital Offense kicked off 2007 with a bang by helping lead its team to a major victory in Blackcat Paintball's GI Joe scenario at Skyline Paintball in Strasburg, VA this weekend. Over 40 scenario teams were in attendance at the game, but it was Capital Offense that took home the prestigious Best Supporting Team Award for its work carrying out the scenario and supporting the "General."
The victory was decisive, with the Cobra Team (of which Capital Offense was a part) achieving over 100 more points than the Joes (this is a major point spread for a Blackcat game). Although the score was tied at the end of Day One, Capital Offense drove hard throughout the night, accomplishing takeovers of every major base, fortification, and flag station of the opposing team by 1:00AM.
The momentum continued on Day Two as Capital Offense acquired a special prop that, once armed and set, would eliminate all players that came within a 30 foot radius of the device for 25 minutes. Capital Offense wisely held onto the device until the final battle when the Joes had precisely 30 minutes to put themselves in a position to win the game. Capital Offense charged up the main valley of the battlefield, pushed the opposing team back under heavy cover fire and armed the device in the exact area the Joe team needed to reach - the result was that the Joes were cut off and strangled from their mission objective and could not achieve victory in the final battle.
"It was a hard fought 2 days and 1 night," said Team Captain, David C. Thompson, "I'm just really happy with our Team and the effort they showed throughout the entire game. It was an incredible display of paintball skill, leadership and teamwork, and we just feel fortunate to get the recognition [Best Supporting Team Award] from the game's producers."
Capital Offense is now in the pre-game development of its strategy for Vietnam Patrol, where they will play the part of the dreaded Viet Cong forces. More details to follow...
